It's a game about failure, but also second chances, perseverance, and letting go. It goes to some dark places, but it's also very, very funny.

I was in a pretty bad place when I played it, and I actually found it pretty inspiring. Helps to know someone else is also going through it, and not many works I've read, game or otherwise, really capture the experience of depression as unflinchingly.

I heard its more about like just being human than being a cop, there isn't "combat" per say. You can be violent and kill people but it's not like "here's your gun+2" lol.

It really is. And yeah, you can throw some punches and fire your gun a few times (not many), but they're just skill checks. You can find weapons, but the way you use them is more like in adventure game puzzles. The vast majority of the game is dialogue and descriptive text, walking and talking, opening doors and containers.

It's depressing, because it's a game about hitting rock bottom and failure, your personal failures and the failures of society and the world. But if played in a certain way, it's also a game about hope, recovery and keeping it together at the face of despair. It's one of the most hopeful and motivational games I've played recently.

the overall game could be depressing if you are emotionally invested with the characters, but for the most part is really funny, i completitly recommend playing it. Maybe you could try playing it with breaks in between or at slow pace, but the experience this game offers is really unique to not play it tbh. (srry for my english btw :p, i hope u understand)

Hey do you still need the game? I have an extra key if you want it.

it's one of the most hilarious games I have played in recent years.
Genuinely uplifting. Sure, it has its melancholic moments but they never become overbearing.

you know, depressing game about moving on and letting go is too good, when it becomes too real for you personaly, if you know, what i mean. As people above said, if you play it a certain way, it becomes a game about hope, keeping yourself together and even maybe a brighter future. And ye, its pretty funny sometimes as well

The game cured my depression for a good while. Loved the story, the atmosphere - really everything about it. Disco Elysium is a superb game and is well worthy of a play through, if youre someone who likes a good adventure, and a exciting story line, the game is just that. Give it a try if youre depressed, it might help.

I imagine you saying this with some cool sounding soviet type music in the background.
