What is good in this game?
What should I even do to like it?

And now... Dude, how dare you compare playtime in a text based rpg, to first person shooters, CS, Team Fortress and garbage like that? My whole point is that, in a text RPG, 1k hours can only mean DOZENS of playtroughs. So, it seems that your first wasnt good at all, Maybe the second will be ok, maybe will be great, possibly will be excellent. Just like Darkest Dungeon! Or Civ! It can be totally unpredictable when you start, you have no idea how far will you go or still have fun and a decent performance. Failure is very likely But once you are on top of your game, and your planning went through, it gets golden! Third time I repeat, trust me on this and give that disco ball another spin!

Edit: sometimes the secret for a smooth Disco Elysium experience is basic selection of stats, and abstain yourself of trying checks that are way % likely to fail right now. For my friends that I convince to play, usually recommend, a 2-3-4-3 (and Inland Empire as signature skill) for a smooth starter build. This will optimize initial survival, a few early checks and also unlock some hidden quests that will provide early XP.

1. Reading didn't really bother me, I didn't complain about it a single time, maybe you should learn to read yourself.
2. Does game tell you, at least once that you have to save manually? And that if you die, you are reverted to the last save (assuming you had one, if not you just have to start from the scratch). You can't deny that wasting 2 hours of gameplay for nothing is a bit discouraging from continuing to play.

Manual saving is your friend. It really sucks then you fail 90% check or find door you really wanna open at 13% chance

The game autosaves every 30 IRL minutes, if the characters are stationary/idle for a few seconds after spawning in a new room/location.

Aditionally, F5 is a hotkey to quicksave. F9 quickload.

My advice: create a new character, try a totally different build and approach things differently. Speak with the characters you ignored in your first 2 hours. Don't do the same things you already did. Maybe you are just eating this slice pizza from the wrong side, my friend. This game is beyond worthwhile. Is probably the best thing I ever played, actually.

You didn't, but in case your short attention span doesn't let you actually remember what you initial question was, it's right up there.

The concept of saving and starting over from the last save available is pretty wild and innovative though, they should've explained this concept to us, gamers.

I still have no idea what you guys are even arguing about!

This is a "Choices Matter" storyline based RPG, which means saving is mandatory, even more so if you are a beginner.
But even taking aside the obvious, this game AUTOSAVES and also have a very efficient Quicksave/Quickload function (and even a quicksave backup too).

Seriously, cut this sh!t off, and go ahead on a second playtrough, this game deserves it. Hell, if you check my profile, you can see that I played over 1200 hours, meaning dozens of different playtroughs since it released.

I've seen people having few thousand hours in games like cs or team fortress, yet I don't care, because I don't like first person shooters. And now I'm pretty sure I don't like this game too, so I don't care about your playtime either. Maybe I will give it a second chance one day, but it certainly won't be in near future. Worst that can happen, is that it will be on my "I regret not refunding this ♥♥♥♥" list, along with enter the gungeon and a few other games that got too many chances from me.
