No, if you die you can just load your last save file.

Let me guess.. You lost 5 mins of progress, and now you're here to rage for several days

I doubt its 2 hrs, but ok. What do you expect us to do about it?. Should we all hate the game now, because you can't remember to save.

I want to know if the game autosaves and also, if it at any point tells that it does/doesn't. Or if it even tells anything, I still don't get basic mechanics, don't see any tutorial, rules or anything similar.

It saves each 30 mins aproximately. After changing maps and staying stationary for a few moments, increase the chance of autosave. Leaving the game to Main Menu without saving (and no dialogues open) will also autosave it for you. Also, F5 qucksave and F9 quickload.

There is no excuse for your chickanery. Also, your "two hours lost" can be way better utilized, now, that you have more knowledge about the game. If you dont want to re-do the same stuff, just go do something else for now.

instead of being weird, why not just answer the question?

Always remember to save a lot and if you want to risk it just make save files as you progress, it's one of the solutions you learn after playing old games or long games. there is auto save.

Have you ever played a game where auto save is not a nuisance?
I have not: auto save never works, manual save always works ...

Dude, if I can give some advice, just start a new run. But to avoid that chore and explore more, eof spicw, spite thing a little bit, this time, just choose THE OPPOSITE dialogue options that you were first inclined to choose in the first playthtrhru. Sound counrer inruicrice, but TRUST ME BRATÄN! you shall experiece an whole another gameplay exeperience. And a much more fun to try the outrageous alternatives (there are no wrong answers, trust me.) You probably will enjoy your second time round.
Trust me, I have over 1200+ hours of Disco Elysium!
