So...we're all gonna boycott the next game right?
The show too. The way ZA/UM has treated the creators is repulsive and they don't deserve another penny unless they reinstate the people who actually made DE happen. Solidarity with games creators in this capitalist hell industry.

A group of friends created the universe in which Disco Elysium is set in for a really long time (one of the main names behind this creation is Robert Kurvitz, who also wrote a novel he released back in 2013 in the same universe that had little commercial success), then they decided to work on adapting the universe in video game format and launched the ZA/UM company towards this end. As you know, the game released in 2019 with huge success however towards the end of 2021 Robert and his friends were apparently fired for unknown reasons, as disclosed by one of them, Martin Luiga, on his blog. Nothing else is known about the dispute only that it might be related to the people who were supposed to handle the business side of the company. ZA/UM released a statement on Twitter and people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on them for likely throwing away most of the creative force behind the world of the game, among other things (apparently they are working on SOMETHING that will be live-service game as per their job listings so things seem to be going downhill fast). There are plenty of other articles you can find by gaming media out by now.

Rightly so, fans are expecting the worse, unfortunately.

I saw this on sale and came here to see whether people were falling for it or holding fast in support of the creators. Really good to see this discussion here.

Seems people arent bothered to leave a proper dont recommend tho. How stupid is that... As if buyers would actually take time to read past the mostly positive rating and go check their pathetic version of "I recommend, but do not buy!"

It should be easy, you either recommend or dont recommend.

Yeeeah, and that's cool and all, but. If you actually want it to be *GOOD* and worth your 100% support then *we* have to speak to them in the only language they understand.
They being the investors and board, and that language being Negative Gross Profit Margin/ Net Loss.
When you speak NoL, you are guaranteed to be heard loud and clear.
Don't be a tool, help hold them accountable for their snake-a$$ business practices towards the very people that created their source of wealth in the 1st place; you just don't betray your own people. Period.

There's a level of irony when capitalism kills a studio's top selling game that had communist undertones but the fans use capitalism to fight back against the studio.
In Disco Elysium the communists ban art and open concentration camps.
