Quicksaved in whirling in rags and Gary The Cryptofacist disappeared after reloading a save

any ideas how to get him back? do i have to wait a whole day for him to respawn? the same thing seemed to happen to The Pig as well where NPCs scripted to be around weren't around.

During your conversation with Morell he says he's going to leave afterwards, so if you exit the room or reload a save, he's gone, sorry. Same goes for the Pigs -- once you leave the screen after getting your gun back, she's gone (though you can still turn in the quest).

If you didn't have those conversations yet, I think they'll be back the next day.

pigs didnt even show up on day 3 (despite the sirens being played), plus wouldnt gary leaving after reloading to a quicksave to before i even left the whirling in rags be considered a bug?

If it's before he said he'd leave, then yes. And if the Pigs never showed up at all after 22:00, that too.
