Int is important for solving the mystery of the murder, Psyche is important for solving the mystery of your lost memory, Physique will help you avoid emotional and physical pain. You probably do want Perception and Hand/Eye Coordination, but you don't need them and you can build them up in other ways. Even if you don't have them, this is a game that's thematically about failure a lot of the time, so it's good to roll with the failures, play around them, accept that there are checks you can't unlock sometimes.
any combination having two attributes with 4 and the other two attributes with 2.
like for example
4422
2244
4242
2424 etc
edit: any combination where your health is 2 or your morale is 2, it's still risky but not as much than your build. either way have some way to heal yourself.
the other reason, I imagine that checks/dialogues are unlocked depending the skill level from 2->4->6->8->... so it all depends of how fast you want a certain skill to appear.
but don't worry the game gives many ways to get this bonuses.
