I looked in the save game folder, the very first auto save files were there (.json and .lua files) but not zipped up in the correct format.
So the game was able to write to the folder but failed at this point for some reason. And then never tried or was able to save again.
I zipped them up manually, comparing to a new save created from running the game in admin mode. My recovered autosave loaded fine.
So now instead of losing 3 hours I've only lost 2 hours... D:
"TimeZoneNotFoundException: Exception of type 'System.TimeZoneNotFoundException' was thrown"
then its a unity bug. You should open Control Panel/Date and Time and choose your time zone.
"(Filename: C:\buildslave\unity\build\Runtime/Export/Debug/Debug.bindings.h Line: 48)
You wanted to get open slot, but there are no more open slots to return!"
and
"Failed to create agent because it is not close enough to the NavMesh
(Filename: C:\buildslave\unity\build\Modules/AI/Components/NavMeshAgent.cpp Line: 648)"
Bottom line is that this game appears to be lacking major QA testing.
I'm also at a dead end with saving and quickly losing interest. I believe I'm hosed after 40 hours into this game but I guess I'll keep tabs on this thread in case anyone discovers any groundbreaking fixes.
Not sure what to do, other than file a dispute with my credit card company.
Edit: After backtracking a bit I narrowed it down to completing (internalizing) the Guillaume Le Million. If I let it complete, then I can't save. So in my case I guess I can never complete the thought. Broken game. $40 for this?
DO NOT INTERNALIZE "INSULINDIAN MIRACLE". I have no idea why, but you can't save after your character acquires it. So just avoid it until the bug is fixed.
If you are already internalizing that thought, don't panic. You can open the thoughts menu, select Insulindian Miracle and press "stop". Then internalize something else. This will save you from a lot of headache wondering why the hell you can't save 20 hours into the game.
