It goes without saying that I would feel dirty if I spent money on a game knowing that Chapo Traphouse was involved somehow. What was the logic behind using such controversial people for voice over?

I doubt that the money earned as voice-actors in an indie game would make any difference in their revenue stream. Come to think about it: maybe they did the voice-acting for free.

tl;dr: each of them is already crazy rich, you are not really supporting them by buying this game.

It's politicised in the sense that it takes on topics other games don't touch. If you don't like that don't play this game, it's kind of the whole premise of the thing.

They're just being open about where they stand, which is better than a disguised (or unexamined) agenda, since every creative project has beliefs and values underlying it.

You get to explore the whole gamut of beliefs in the game, from capitalism to communism, fascism, and everything in between. There's no suggestion that these different beliefs don't get a fair hearing, except for maybe fascism, but I wouldn't expect fascism to, it's a repellent belief system.
