Can not target interactables using Playstation 5 controller

So, that’s very weird.

You can scroll dialogue using right stick, but not select things/people to interact with using it. Controller from Playstation 4 works perfectly, target selection works as expected.

So far I’ve tried using every controller configuration Steam Provides, disabling/enforcing Steam Input, pairing/unpairing multiple times, connecting via cable and bluetooth, restarted laptop a few times obviously.

I have MacBook Air M1, latest MacOS 12.0.1.

I’ve reported bug to ZA/UM using their Google Form, but decided to post it here too to add video demonstrations (I hope people from ZA/UM read this forum) and in case someone else has this problem.

Had this issue on the GOG version on Mac as well, with a number of controllers (PS5, Xbox One, Logitech F310). Basically anything that isn't a PS4 controller (and an 8BitDo SN30Pro in "PS4 mode") will not recognize the right stick for targeting things, and "Detective Mode" doesn't work. I can still scroll in the menus with the right stick, as the TC said.

I have the same problem on my M1 Pro macbook using any controller. I tried a Switch Pro controller and a PS4 controller

This bug is still active in the new patch. Right stick doesn't highlight anything.

It's the same issue as the OP. Mac M1 / PS5 Controller / Steam.

Controller is recognized by the game. On bluetooth and wired. Everything works except using the right stick to highlight and select. Controller is great for other games on steam.

I have same problems with Mac Air M1 and Logitech gamepad (it works before, about one year ago)

I got the same problem with Mac Air Inter Chip and Switch Pro Controller. Looks like the bug isn't fixed yet. Maybe I should get the refund from Steam and then buy the game at Nintendo eShop

Same here, M1 Mac running on Steam and Ps5 controller, just filled the form.

M1 Mac, Stadia controller plugged in. Exactly the same problem. Can't target interactive elements with right thumbstick. I filled out the feedback form.

Are there even devs still working on this game? I vaguely remember reading that they all left or got fired or something.

Such a bummer to not be able to play with a controller... I've waited years to play this game and it's frustrating to be able to do character creation and the intro dialogues and then just be STUCK in the first area because controller support is broken.

I will add myself to the problem, but with a switch pro controller. I bought the game bc I was going to use it with controller, I am not able to use keyboard for playing :(

Pain in the ass on an Xbox 360 controller as well, it's pretty much stopping me from playing; don't want to sit in front of my PC the whole day and it says controllers supported.. It works sometimes, but mostly doesn't.
