Changing review after final cut

This is not the first post, I know and I'm sorry but my aim is deliver a negative message to Zaum and the community

I never expected to do it but yeah I confirm like someone else said "the final cut" it's a big fail. Voice acting is messed up on many fronts. The minor characters too which would've been better if they kept their "mouth" shut. Cuno is the worst disappointment followed by some untalented voice acting director/voice actors.

I was expecting an improvement or a choice between the old version and the new version (as I understood/misunderstood?) Now, this brought me up the countless times Diablo 3 has been changed/freshly voice acted AGAIN (see Lyndon the burglar). His voice was just perfect but beside being well fit with the character, where's the respect for what the original voice actor did? It's like he's no longer the same character. What's the point?

Seriously. what a disappointment

EDIT: on a later thought I discarded the censorship noise at a first glance... but now that a friend of mine let me notice it, it's really annoying since cuno does enjoy swear a lot = which is a personal trait of his character, which we ALL enjoyed I guess. I'll keep pile-stocking my feelings as they come

Personally I'm happy with the changes. Yeah, Cuno sounded better but the new one is not bad either. Someone made a great point in one of the posts: Cuno finally sounds like a child and not an adult forcing his voice to sound like a child.

I keep seeing people complain about the voice acting but I’m yet to hear a voice that didn’t suit the character... even if you liked the original it’s hard not to see these complaints as childish. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it bad; change happens, so act like an adult and deal with it.

Nobody asked them to make that change tho. I bought the game after seeing the original Cuno scene on YT.

I mean, I did. I love reading, but tend to not do so well with the combination in a game. Tried it, liked it but never made it super deep in. The addition of full voicing actually got me back into the game, made me absorb dense encyclapedia entries I'd never bother reading fully (And be honest, most of us skim a lot of the bigger info dumps, even if you don't gotta admit a lot do.) SO the voicing was fantastic for actually getting me in. I know people are angry about the OG actors but...come on, no one in this is BAD at the VA work, we have all seen terrible games Voice acting, this one even if you don't prefer the new stuff is still quality made.

I agree, give people the option to revert if they prefer, but to change this game from a positive review over a free update that added stuff in the current gaming landscape just seems...petty to me. These guys made a great game, worked their asses off with a small studio, stuck with it after release for free updates, and never even thought of ripping us off for the upgrades. Then everyone ♥♥♥♥♥ on them because it isn't just perfectly what they wanted when you look at ♥♥♥♥ like Cyberbunk 2077 lying their asses off too us from day one...I dunno, just seems like waaaay the wrong fight.

I purchased a product and they removed fantastic voice actors work and replaced it with mediocre voice actors so they could advertise the game as fully voiced to console players, so I see no reason as to not continuously complain until they give an option to return to the previous voice actors. Especially considering the absolutely fantastic performances of the previous voice actors is one of the main reasons I purchased it in the first place.

Fair enough, I get wanting what you paid for back. Was under the impression there was a classic mode that was just the original voiced lines? If that's not true then yeah, should have that option I agree. Do still think it's fair to say it is a better than average game with a lot of hard work in to it, and that this seems more like an oversight that needs pointing out than something to get angry with them over. And I just don't get bleeping in a M game, maybe as a streamer mode thing but weird default.

Still though, even as a guy who loves the new additions and the game a whole. One vote here for adding the old stuff as a toggle option for people at least, sucks to have a good game seemingly ruined for them over something fixable, even if I don't mind the new voices at all really.

i'm happy with some changes as well (the narrator voice is awesome) BUT like I said to a friend, cuno isn't JUST a child. He's a problematic kid which was perfectly fit with the previous voice actor (Dot Major if I'm right) with that particular accent coming from a special region/part in england. Being a problematic child sometimes it can lead to grow up faster, adopting some adult's behaviours, to deal or to face better with major threats, that's why cuno in my opinion swear a lot, he pretend to look like a grown up swearing a lot, throwing rocks which it may look childish to throw rocks to a dead organism BUT throwing rocks is a political message too = this is (sigh was) a serious game for adults.

klaasje's voice turned out to change from a worried woman haunted by her past mistakes to be a sensual and sexy voice, which considering her Background/mind, I won't act ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if I need to stay undercover and unnoticed especially USING that voice

I paid for a game which was in that shape. I loved that shape. I guess there's no contract that says "we change the quality standards whenever we like, despite that you like them or not". It's against my commercial advise to write that. This is act like an adult for me.

Yeah, I'm not trying to be too aggressive or anything and I agree that the bones of this game are phenomenal, but gutting the game of such fantastic voice actors only to replace them with mediocre VAs so they could sell the game as "fully voiced" is tragic (classic does not revert the game to the original VAs). All I'm asking of the devs is an option to return to the original VAs.

So you're saying because you mentioned this before you're immune to being criticised?
That's not how things work buddy. Anyways as said all this ♥♥♥♥ has been mentioned before, I even agree people should be given the option to play the pre final cut version or get the old voices back. Personally I enjoy the final cut and many others do too. It's just annoying to see topics pop up that talk about the same ♥♥♥♥. Also idk what's wrong with your ears but klaasje sounds depressed and worried to me maybe even tired. I was really impressed with some of the voice acting in the final cut.

The voice actors sound like a 3-grade reading level - like they dont know a comma from a period... Did they voice act for free or something? Or maybe just got their in-house devs to do it? Sounds like that.
Woulda been so much more enjoyable, and immersive if the voice actors were actually good

Idk man, i think they're doing a pretty good job, it's better than most other games voice acting. Like people are getting so pissed over this, at least it seems that way but I listen to it and it sounds better than the voice acting in most other games

Im not pissed - and im still enjoying the game.
Just sometimes it really shines through the way they´re placing the emphasis, making sentances and statements sound completely wrong..
I dont mind the charectars having accents mind you.

I just think it would have been an *even better* experience with better actors
