Not that I noticed? I think you can say you've cleaned up and he confirms it. But I wasnt really watching for that so no sure, might have been an earlier convo.
sucks the game doesn't have an epilogue slide show as this is the kind of thing that would deserve a 'gone cold turkey never got back on the junk' or something future?

He will mention that you did not drink for a week at the end of the game when defending you at the final conversation with your old police crew. Yes, Kim respects you more for it. However, your older partner Jean will remain cynical, mentioning that it was "just a week," alluding that Harry will likely return to his old antics given enough time.

I know I hope they have a slide show or even have CGI movies in the sequel.

yes it's mentioned. nothing happens because of it, but you dont see the effects of a lot of things you do anyway. so its up to you to think about what happens after the game ends. the game gives enough info for you to make those assumptions, like, i'm pretty certain my harry will never be drinking again.

You can get a thought, Wasteland of Reality, if you commit to quitting drinking out loud early enough. But it's realistic that Jean wouldn't just believe you, one week after your latest meltdown, after being your partner for years. No former alcoholics and all that.

There's no epilogue and Jean's not going to forgive you right away, but you can actually get suspended if you're bad enough. There's also a bit they added for Final Cut where Jean puts his arm around you and helps prop you up on your way to the car that wasn't there before, so that's a nice little detail.

My first playthrough was like that, the guy just say that it's only 1 week, basically saying that he doesn't trust main character to stay sober, still it's nice seeing Kim stand up for me.

Choosing not to drink or do drugs (and choosing not to confiscate them) can have all sorts of effects you are not necessarily aware of with Kim, and not just at the end of the game. The spoiler above mentions one of them that is at the end. Your Good Cop/Bad Cop score, which dictates how much Kim trusts you and his personal evaluation of you as a cop CAN be effected by Alcohol/Drug use depending on if he is aware you are drinking or doing drugs. And how Kim feels about you can effect all sorts of little interactions with him personally. If being buddies with Kim gives you the warm fuzzies, that can be a pretty big perk to staying sober.

However, this is VERY situational. As an example, the first time you do a certain drug, you can do it right in front of him and it won't hurt your Good Cop/Bad Cop score unless YOU chose to mention it. Then again, you may be in the same scenario, choose to mention it, and he won't care. Some of it is really hit and miss. But Yes, being a sober Cop can have effects.

Basically if you want to know what Kim thinks of your behaviour, Check your Good Cop/Bad Cop score frequently. The Game does NOT call it out as points are added or subtracted to this except adding an orange dot to your notebook icon indicating something changed. And I can't say it always does that.

instead your coworkers will only assume you forgot to drink and smoke after getting that amnesia
