Slow down in-game time
I'd like to request whether the in-game time could be slowed down a bit more, or at least have the option to slow it. Since there's so many spoken lines of dialogue now, the pacing of the game has slowed down significantly (which, to be clear, I'm happy with. It makes it so much more immersive) but I've noticed that choosing to listen to all the dialogue means the time seems to go by a lot quicker, and the day is over before you know it.

Is that necessarily bad? After all the game doesn't end after a fixed number of days.

I admit it's a personal preference, but given some events are triggered at certain times, it can feel like I'm being rushed to get through particular scenarios. This is the second time I've played it through (first time was before The Final Cut) and I feel like I've had my eye on the clock far more than I did the first time around. Even though the narrator does an amazing job, he does speak at a very slow pace, which really eats into the time.

I'm fairly sure the time ticks down in fixed intervals when you initiate dialogue, so time shouldn't be passing faster compared to classic.

I think what he's saying is because there is more dialogue and more NPCs, that you'll go through days quicker than on classic, not that the dialogue itself makes the time go quicker in the new version.

That's exactly it. Reading books and certain other actions can cause the time to advance quicker, but time will pass like normal when in conversation, or even if you leave the game idle in a conversation. All that audio takes a lot of time out of your in-game day.

Every dialogue box advanced something like ~23 seconds.
There's no real-time aspect to the timer or game at all, and you can literally stand around idle or walk about without it advancing.

It being voiced now shouldn't have any bearing on this at all, unless this is another undocumented change in Final Cut and the time-per-paragraph ratio was increased?

I stood idle in the middle of a conversation without selecting any dialogue options and the clock kept moving.

Oh? That shouldn't be the case. There may be a short delay (~5 seconds) between clicking and time passing, but it shouldn't continue passing unless you progress the dialog yourself.

CONCEPTUALIZATION: The devs should introduce a new drug --

ELECTRO-CHEMISTRY: Say no more!

HALF LIGHT: You interrupt again, and I will *hurt* you!

LOGIC: You would only hurt yourself. We're all in the same boat, after all. The same head.

RHETORIC: We get it, thanks.

CONCEPTUALIZATION: *As I was saying,* the devs should introduce a new drug that makes you think and act really quickly. Then because of your quick thinking and acting, to you everything else would seem really slow.

LOGIC: Including time.

REACTION SPEED: I would very much welcome this drug.

HAND-EYE COORDINATION: I don't. It would probably make me all jittery.

CONCEPTUALIZATION: This drug should be long-lasting. I propose coffee.

ELECTRO-CHEMISTRY: Booooring!

Half Light is your fight-or-flight response. It wouldn't hurt anyone unless it felt threatened and backed into a corner. This sounds more like Authority. :)

I can't replicate this.
Started a conversation then went and watched TV for about 15 minutes, came back and the clock hasn't budged. Still just the original system as far as I can see.

Alright, so you're correct, it actually doesn't move while standing still in a conversation. However, because the in-game time continues to advance while someone is talking, it takes up much of the day. I recall that before The Final Cut, a day would last much longer than it does now. On my first playthrough I was able to perform an autopsy, solve the mystery of the bookshop see Evrart, speak to the Wild Pines, and get back to the Whirling in Rags before 9pm. This time around, I performed the autopsy and solved the book store mystery in the first day, and that was about it. Ended up getting back to the Whirling in Rags at about 11pm.
