[Spoiler Discussion] Mercenary Tribunal
Definitely a highlight of the game. Adrenaline pumping and soul-eviscerating.

But...

This doesn't make sense. DePaule, Hoenklowen and Kortenaer die. Who kills Angus, Theo etc? All three mercs get murdered before I blacked out - how does the rest of the Debardeurs Union die?

I must have missed something obvious. Thankful for some explanation.

Wondered that too, but I think the idea is that there's a brief window after you get shot in which things are happening that you don't really see until Kim gets over to you and de Paule comes up behind him. Best guess, anyway.

Further, in the Final Cut there are multiple errors after that fight:

>Kim says "I disarmed DePaule and shot her"

(In the Final Cut he takes your gun to kill her, but that line is still in the game)

>"I suffered a minor concussion because that woman hit me with the back of her gun"

(When would this have happened? The only interaction between those two was him shooting her. But it makes more sense (narrative wise, fitting with the rest of the dialogue) if he was in a struggle and disarmed her - which is gone from the Final Cut, because if you pass the Authority check, Kim takes YOUR gun and kills her)

Also, minor detail: At that point in time, I had 2 bullets and was kinda surprised, for a game that is so good in its detail (really the best thing about Disco Elysium), how could they've missed Kim using your last bullet to kill DePaule? Would've made the situation so much more meaningful (especially if you DIDN'T have that second bullet). But no, the bullet was still there - must've been the Remote Viewer Division phasing in bullets into the chamber.

The problem with this interaction is how it's written. Regardless of if you shoot or throw the spirit bomb at Kortenaer, he still acts as a means of plot hole. Basically after you down him through whatever method he takes one last shot at you, but there is no way DePaule is able to gun down as many people as she does by herself. So it just comes down to linear writing, though you are able to save someone in your attempts.
