any way to re-examine bullet holes near water?

To the south of the bookstore there are some steps down to the water and on a wall to the right is some bullet holes i didn't take a look at the first time i went there. Now the thought/quest is gone. Is there any way to re-activate it?

I think that might be Perception? Not 100% on that. If you've got any clothes or are researching any thoughts that have decreased any of your skills, you could try changing those up. You could also buy them back up if you've got internalized thoughts that are reducing them. But I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for any one orb with any skills you weren't necessarily planning on investing in.

If it isn't part of critical quests, the only way to re-try the check is to level up that particular skill (perception?) -- I say don't bother, there are some interesting information regarding the world but none related to main quest, wait until late game when you can buy dice from a particular vendor in the game, you might be able to retry the check.

Also perception is quite important imo :) my character always have high perception (for the final confrontation).

Well, I say that it's not important to buy Perception because it's so easy to stumble onto thoughts that increase it :) Like on my first run, I started out with 1 in Motorics and ended up with Perception 8 before clothes bonuses, without ever spending any points in it.
