Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings -> Xbox Configuration Support (and Playstation Configuration Support)
When I connect a controller, it says:
Detected Controllers: Xbox One Controller: Xbox One Controller
As I said, it works perfectly in other games.
I have an 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ controller (recognized as a Xbox controller in most games I play successfully), Final Cut with Steam. Xbox Configuration Support is enabled in Steam's configuration, Disco Elysium recognizes my controller and loads the default "Gamepad" configuration.
However, once I'm into the game the gamepad does not respond, and the game doesn't have any indicators that it will accept gamepad input (no button hints, the controller page just lists keyboard shortcuts).
Help!
This is what I did:
Connect the controller first.
After Steam has detected it, right click on the game (in the game list on the left)
Select Manage -> Controller Configuration
A new window pops ut, and at the bottom of that window is a selection called Browse Configs.
Click on that and go to Templates, then select Gamepad.
Close the window, and you're good to go.
Side note: User-created configurations that replace gamepad inputs with keyboard / mouse buttons do work, but I'm trying to get the native XInput / Xbox controls to work.
