Same here. iMac 2017. Catalina (macOS 10.15) icon jumping for a while then stand still.
nothing happens. Got this issue with many games since macOS 10.15. The workaround for this was the change the permissions for "everyone" on the APP in Finder to "Read & Write". But does not help on Disco Elysium.

Got the same issue. Something similar happend with all Obsidian projects after Catalina update. Still Disco doesnt launch.

same issue here, change the 'read & write' permission and add all permission to the .app in "security & privacy" doesn't help.

Similarly, I got the same issue that @kneudel explained. I emailed ZAUM on their bug website link. I'll try to check the integrity of files multiple times, as suggested.

Correction: the game finally launched, after I changed the permission to "Read and Write" to the app.

I had the same problem, jumping icon while starting disco. Tried verifying the files for like 5-6 times and after that the game suddenly started working, even after closing and opening again.

I was having the same problem. Jumping icon, then nothing. Ended up trying again and then waiting a few minutes - it suddenly started and now everything's great. I wonder if there are some first-time start up things that the game is doing on Mac that takes some time?

Has anyone found a solution? Checked the files integrity, but nothing happened. Also tried to change the file writing permission, but I just can't do it — the lock icon for administrator's changes is missing. Is there a solution?

I have solved this for my own installation---I had the same "launch game, but no window appears" problems under Mac OS X Catalina 10.15. I believe this is a COMMON issue that is due to the new Mac security settings.

My game directory is on an EXTERNAL DRIVE.

I was able to solve it by going to System Preferences -> Security -> (Privacy Tab) -> (Full Disk Access (on left)) -> Add application -> Navigate to "disco.app" in the Steam common folder.

I have had to do this for every new game I install ever since Mac OS X 10.15. However, I only have to do it one time per game.

Disabling Steam overlay made the trick for me.
