Passive Skill Checks
Hi,

While engaged in a dialog I've noticed that only *successful* passive skill checks are being displayed (not dice checks).
Is that basically means that there are tons of other hidden *failed* skill checks running in the background during a dialog? Or locked dialog choices due to low skills?

basically, yes. sometimes you get a notice that you failed a passive skill check but most of the time you just don't know

Sometimes it may be the case. Mind you, passive checks occur not only during the dialogues, but during walking through some areas as well (especially the case for perception and shivers). It doesn't seem to affect the game really much, but I concluded for myself that it's always good to have high perception, as well as at least measurable levels of shivers and composure. Most players naturally prefer to invest into intellect and psyche, so the respective skills are rarely an issue. That being said, hoarding free skill points isn't always a good idea; that tactics may lead to missed dialogue lines and XP.

It seems like when you're close to the skill check and you don't make it, it'll tell you. Just like in real life there's things you know you don't know, and there's things you aren't even thinking about.

Very cool assumption.

I agree!

Harry needs to get married (and stay married). Then his wife will tell him what he doesn't know as well as what he should be thinking about.

Oh man! I didn't even know his real name yet! That's a spoiler right there! :)

I think when it comes down to marriage and characters like Harry, a steady relationship with a mentally healthy, strong wife, can be very beneficial for him. Or it can be a complete train wreck.

It's not that much of a spoiler. There's considerable debate as to his real name within the game and on the forum. For the sake of convenience he's Harry, but there are arguments otherwise.
Finding his badge might make a difference.
