How does time/days work?

I'm wondering how exactly time work. I only noticed quite late in the first day that there was a time and so I ended up discovering I could save the body using the fridge too late to get in. So now I'm wondering if the game just repeat the first day on a loop until some specific event, so that I could just run down the clock and try tomorrow or if everyday is unique and leaving the corpse out for the night will have repercusion.

Days don't repeat, and certain events only happen on certain days, and are only accessible before or after certain days, but the game is pretty generous about the corpse. My first playthrough I didn't even get the body down from the tree until Day 3.

Alright thanks, I guess I'll try wasting time until morning. Is there any "you didn't sleep" penalty?

You have to sleep. Time stops moving forward at 2am.

If you need money, first talk to Garte about your bill, and if you can't pay it, Kim will offer to help you out for the first night. You will need 20 more before the end of Day 2, though.

Oh I already got the money, can't believe you can just ask the rich lady for 100$. I just didn't want to waste precious time, good thing I didn't waste time reading the case note, I can just read them now without using "real" time at 2 o clock.
