A problem with proving my authority

As a rule of thumb, if it was a red check, you won't be able to try again. If it was a white check, you can, on the condition you boost the related skill at least once with a skill point.

- Talk to him, if you haven't exhausted all the dialogue options yet;
- ask Evrat for help, if you haven't done it yet;
- work on side quests till you get a skill point to put into authority.

I'm not sure exactly where you are in the game, but you might be able to use a different skill to get the desired result.

Rolling and failing a check is not "a mistake", it's how an RPG works. Sometimes you succeed and sometimes you fail, either way you've progressed the story (and if it's a good RPG you wont be blocked from playing further, you'll just have to try a different path).

Not like you lost a point either, it will still be there helping you on the future checks as well.

But it is a check that i must do to progress in main story line. If it is blocked how am i going to finish the game?

There might be other ways to get what you want.

There *probably* is, but without knowing exactly where you are (you have several key conversations with Titus), it's hard to be sure. In any event, if you raise your authority skill by one point, you can try again. In addition, there may be other information that you can gather that will give you bonuses in this conversations through questioning other people (have you completed Evrart's quests?), and there are items of clothing that can raise your authority. But I think you will still need to raise your authority by one point to get there through the authority check.

You can prove it by asking Evrart. I did this after I did a task for him.
