The Missing Insects Case

Earlier in the game I told Cuno to go ♥♥♥♥ himself, so now he won't talk to me and it seems there is no way to finish The Missing Insects Case for me, which requires me to talk to him. Are there no alternative approaches?

I made peace with Cuno by giving him cigarettes.

try buffing yourself with the 4 differents drugs (booze, cigs, speed and the one i forgot the name) and checking his shack then talking with him. Something might pop up in the shack. And maybe you can get more out of him with increased stats.

In my first run, I ignored Cuno entirely. So what I did was: Enter Cuno's shack. With high enough Perception, you will get a yellow orb, telling you that you hear locusts... After that you will be able to confront Cuno and tell Morell about it.
