Stuck on day 2

I'm entirely stuck. All leads are cold. I've systematically tried interacting with everything and everyone on the map, to no avail. The only way forward seems to be accepting Measurehead's ideology to get into the harbor, but I can't help but think there must be other ways to proceed. I realize it's a bit hard to give advice without knowing my entire playthrough so far, but does anyone have any hints? Some key points:

-I haven't gotten into the harbor
-I've been to the apartments
-I've been to the abandoned area behind the curtains in the bookstore
-I've figured out someone drove over the pawn shop
-I've spoken to the Hardies, who confessed to the murder
-I'm waiting on the identity of the armor's owner

I'd rather avoid looking up a walkthrough if I can - no need to spoil myself on the story any more than absolutely necessary.

You can boost up your combat skills with a few pieces of clothing and go back to beat the hell out of Measurehead - just be sure to Kick him on the second attack.

Solid advice. I've already attacked him twice, however, and don't have enough experience to unlock the check again. I do intend to keep going until I get him, but I'll need to advance somewhere else first.

You'll be able to cross over to the coast on Day 3, so you might just want to start advancing time as much as you can. Ask Joyce as much as you can, read your case files (you can read them multiple times), I think you can talk to the smoker in his apartment as long as you've met him already after 21:00, and you can go to bed after 21:00 too (make sure you've got the 20 real to pay Garte).

Don't worry about not having done enough at the end of Day 2. I didn't get the body down or get into the harbour until Day 3 myself on my first run.

Did you manage to get your cool Cloak Coat thingy back? You can see it hanging off a railing above the crime scene.

It's a pretty cool coat, and getting to it might help you get to see old problems from different points of view. I really recommend getting that coat back if you can't find anything else to do. There has got to be a way to reach it from the crime scene itself...

Man, i've had the EXACT same problem as you, and i googled something (and the gay just above my answer speaks about same thing) - get your perception to 10 (it should be 6 at the skill table), and you will be able to see secret door hidden by railing, its at the crime scene. After that you see what to do by yourself.

Thanks for the help, lads. I took the advice of Du-Vu and procrastinated away the day. Turns out that moved things along - just like in real life.
