Kicked mailbox and died
Who even designed this health system?
How come kicking a mailbox gives me a heart attack?

I picked the intellectualist build and any thing going wrong makes me die instantly, GOTY 2019

Yeah, kicking a mail box, very "intellectualisty" -_-

Also blaming the game for the frailty of your chosen build Phisique.

Man up, reload, buy or steal a raincoat at Frittte for a +1 endurance and everything will be smoother.

Also don't trash inanimate objects with 1 health if you're not a member of the "Anti-object task force".

EDIT:
PS a thread talking about game mechanics and not ridiculousy unrelated political nonsense, this forum still has hope, my sincere thanks OP.

For a gameplay tip regarding some of these unavoidable situations (as someone who also played with 1 endurance..) when you take damage and the game world starts to crawl into bullet time as your single health bar drops to zero; you can quickly in that moment use a health item to bring yourself back. This actually makes a lot of the game's physical or dangerous tasks a bit negligible actually since it's pretty easy to be walking around with like 10~20 healing pills fairy early into the game.

Ok lets say I put a point in endurance:

kick mailbox + sit in unconfortable chair = heart attack

it still does not makes sense no matter how frail you are

This is a guy who wakes up and can potentially have a low-grade heart attack just by reaching up to grab his tie off a fan, even if your Endurance and Savoir Faire are pretty good. It's only self-medicating with booze and painkillers and constantly talking himself down (putting points into skills) that's keeping him going at this point. You don't die from hurting your foot or being uncomfortable, you die because the last bit of Endurance keeping you from breaking down runs out and all the ♥♥♥♥ you're holding together comes flying apart.

Instant karma. That mailbox did nothing to you.

The "sense" of it is better explained by Du-Vu above me.

And then you know, there's nose spray for those situations, if you arrived at the union boss office you're bound to have some of it, how much is shown with the number in the orange cross over your health bar. Whenever you're about to die, just click there and proceed, the game throws healing items at you, and when it doesn't, well they only cost 0.90 cents a piece.

Want to kick that mail box no matter what? Do it, sniff some medicine and go on, always make sure you're at full health if you have so little of it.

Or just consider to start a custom build with 1-2 more points in Phisique, this is not a game where sitting idle behind a rock for 10 seconds lets you shrug off a bullet in the stomach, and the only way to play some kind of a "hard mode" is starting with 1 Phisique and 1 Psyche, so you're practically playing "half hard mode".

Not to be mean but you have plenty of healing items in the game to avoid that ... or stop hitting thing stupidly xD

You wasted precious energy comrade, having not eaten in the past few days it was only a matter of time.

I had no idea what was going on, I had not even pulled down the body and then

found the secret door and started exploring the docks until I found myself with the boss I did only had minimum healing items then he said "missing gun" and I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died

This game did not even came with a tutorial I have no idea how thoughts work and they seem important enough to warrant an explanation even if it is with some tutorial pop up

First, thanks for spoiler tag.

Second, pressing F1 shows some barebones info on the game basics, not much but it's still something you might find of use.

Third, save often, and if you end up dead at some point that might be a signal you came too far too early, reload, turn back and return later with better resources at hand.

Game doesn't pull punches, steel yourself and hit back.

Not being able to see what the finished Thought gives you is indeed one of the few flaws of the game. Thankfully, Internet exists and you can easily find a list. They are just stat buffs or give other unique effects. Some are much better than others.

My uncle died of a heart attack lifting a box of books up two flights of stairs. Not even kidding. Yes he was frail, and had had a long period of sickness before it happened. But point being, if you are physically at your weakest, then dying suddenly from exhaustion is very much possible and makes perfect sense.
