Anyone else getting high temps playing this?

I'm currently through playing Disco Elysium and I'm having a blast, though I find that my GPU temp runs suspisciously high when playing. It hits around 70º degrees, which is a bit much for a game that doesn't look so demanding. Especially on a 1060.
I've found a reddit thread complaining about the same thing, but with their CPU.

Anyone else has this issue? I'm a bit worried that I may have to do some maintenance on my GPU due to failing temp control or something.

It's a temperature for full load all time, this should not be the case for disco as i can run overwatch with +200fps and the gpu stays at 66º. I think the problem is that the gpu is at min or max for this game. The graph shows that, it peaks and then go all the way down. So everytime the game needs more freq than the minimum it stays at 100% of the gpu without using the other levels of freqency. This is why it runs really hot, mine is running at 1420hz all the time

Nah full load is 80 and up, 70 is perfectly fine.

Mine is 70~74 because it's a special model for cooling. Each gpu has it load temp. Still, a lot of people are reporting high temps and fan noise with this game so it's not normal. Something is wrong

Disco Elysium runs hotter for me locked at 30 fps! ( tried lowering it and barely any difference) than red dead 2 at ultra 1440p 90 fps, there is something really wrong with DE at least with certain hardware.

I've noticed that the CPU temps really go wild when I'm in a large outdoor area. For instance, when talking with Easy Leo, the temps are 85+C and spike up to 97-101C.

That is getting pretty hot.

Me too, my PC should easily be able to handle this game ,as it does much higher graphically demanding games at lower temp. Not sure what the issue is, if its badly optimised or if its some other issue. I'm really enjoying the game so I hope the Developer sees these threads and fixes it.

I'm getting over 80 degrees too, even when the cat isn't sitting on my computer. I turned down the graphics options, turned on vsync, and none of it helped.

Mine (GTX 1070) was running hot at native screen 120hz/120fps.

I used Nvidia Inspector to limit @60fps and that completely fixed the issue for me. Played 3-4 hours this evening with no issues.

I tried that, with it even having min 50fps to max 60fps, still crashes and pc restart's cause of high temps. Thank you for the advice though, im just going to leave it and wait to see if there is an another update that may help fix it. Since the temps with this are in no way normal, compared to how the PC can handle higher graphical games at higher fps.

I really think the devs at unity need to spend a *bit* more time educating game devs on how to actually use their engine properly. because i HAVE seen devs do it right, without the memory leaks, unnecessary over-utilized cpu cycles, etc. it's an issue of devs not knowing, or not bothering to, actually RTFM. However, if Unity does not want to be leaving themselves wide open to a better competing engine, they really need to hire some people to babysit the game devs better, because I see this ♥♥♥♥ happening over and over again, ESPECIALLY from studios associated with Larian.

Yes it does run hot. Usually that is down to poor programming. Maybe they will sort it out with a bugfix sometime.
