Yet after getting into the back room of the Bookstore the GPU caps at 100% and the fan is attempting suicide.
There's another thread about limiting your frame rate, set it to 30 fps and it seems to have fixed it somewhat.
Edit: The op uses a nvidia card? Then the problem is game related i guess
Still, it's a high temperature and I've been able to notice it happens depending on the area you're playing. As Azure pointed out, the Doomed Commercial Area for some reason just makes my GPU work harder, that's when it peaks at 70º.
Granted, I still haven't properly tested how it goes with other games due to laziness on my part, but it's still very weird for a not so demanding game to hit those numbers.
I'm loving the game thus far but i'm afraid to continue playing like that
- Make sure VSync is on
- Turn down graphics options like shadows, AA, post processing,...
- Reduce resolution/lower refresh rate (pick 60hz instead of 100/120/144). Some games don't allow this, then things like NVidia Control Panel have an option to select highest refresh rate.
Sure it peaks at 70 now after I've changed the thermal paste on my GPU, but it was this game that tipped me off to it by making my card get around 83 degrees. It would be one thing if it was a big, demanding game graphically, but for a modest (technically speaking) one it's certainly at least a bit odd.
The game needs a fix, i cant play like that. It's summer in Brazil too and having the pc this hot is a problem
It's a temperature for full load all time, this should not be the case for disco as i can run overwatch with +200fps and the gpu stays at 66º. I think the problem is that the gpu is at min or max for this game. The graph shows that, it peaks and then go all the way down. So everytime the game needs more freq than the minimum it stays at 100% of the gpu without using the other levels of freqency. This is why it runs really hot, mine is running at 1420hz all the time
