That Damn Pie Achievement

This is what I've found so far, in case anyone else is trying to get this:

https://discoelysium.gamepedia.com/Get_topping_pie_from_Gary. Apparently the pie is a task you can get from Gary. Also looking at the save file text in Notepad, you can see the pie task listed. I have no idea what triggers it though.

I've tried having fascism and race theory internalised. It's not based on a passive skill check because I tested it with 20 in all stats. I've tried the different combinations of going/not going into his apartment first and bringing up some of the stuff you see in there.

If you don't take the armour off of him, there's a funny conversation you can get after asking him about Seolites. If you come back at night without Kim, he'll accuse Kim of being part of a conspiracy to spy on everyone using advanced technology. You'll get a thought in the morning when Kim rejoins that allows you to ask him if he has any info about you in the 'secret Seolite database'. I wasn't able to follow up with Gary about what Kim said so, I've given up on this one.

I got this achievement a minute ago, and can confirm it comes from Gary. I'm not exactly sure the order that I used in conversation, but I talked about his side job when he was standing in the reeds. I exhausted each of the options and eventually he shared that his courier job is as a topping pie delivery man. I asked for a pie, he told me to meet him back in the city and ask again. After checking the traps, talking to Lena, talking to Morell, then finally talking to Gary he gave me a pie. I interacted with it in my inventory, went through some dialogue and harangued Kim into eating with me. After we finished the pie, Achievement Unlocked.

Interesting, did you have any thoughts internalised outside the usual or any conversations before that stood out? I'm guessing you need to ask the racist lorry driver about apple deliveries.

I definitely spoke to him about apple deliveries prior. In this run I haven't internalised anything that stands out (mostly just funny ones to spice up dialogue): Hobocop, Regular Law Official, Overproductive Honour Glands, Cop of the Apocalypse, Col Do Ma Ma Daqua. Politically: Communist 3, Fascist 0, Ultraliberal 4, Moralist 7.

Also, what was your char build, if you can remember? Stats and main skills used? Appreciate the input.

So I just got this without really trying. I had 7 Authority and asked "Are you a cryptozoologist too?" > got a passive prompt to DOMINATE him > "What do you do, then?" > "So you deliver things..." > asked each option, then "Come on, man..." and he opened up about being a pie delivery guy and I had the option to ask for one. Interacted with it in my inventory, shared it with Kim, and got the achievement.

Now, how do I get the cuirass from him? I've got 9 Perception and 8 Composure, but somehow I'm not spotting it.

Hang on, if you say you're only going to look for one piece of armour, can you *only* find one piece of armour? Maybe that's it.

Yeah, I think you have to commit to finding all of the armour pieces. Your perception and composure are definitely high enough.

It may also require checking Gary's apartment and linking the mugs there to the one in the dumpster?

Alright I got it, thanks Du-Vu. It requires a passive Authority and Endurance check to ask for a topping pie.

Good find. I was also able to reach the same conclusion (and wrote a guide for the achievement) with some help from others. It's a tricky one
