No and no.
LOL I've played for far more than a few hours. I don't know how you'd imagine anyone would learn if there was a sort of new game plus or not from that.
However, thank you for answering the question. I can now create other playthroughs without reservation.
I must admit I'm morbidly curious what maxing all stats would be like in this game... but got burned a couple of time with viruses in trainers when young, so haven't tried it in Disco.
Heard good things about Cheat Engine, though that's a hex editor style thing, and those are usually pretty complex to use. Shouldn't be any problem slash rules breach using it in a pure single player game, but do so on your own risk, yadda, yadda, yadda...
If you want to go that route it is really easy to modify your saved game file. While I know how to do that (Decided to get the c-boots to see if that would help in "the fight") I prefer to utilize built in features. You're absolutely correct though trainers and especially the sites you can download them from are loaded with viruses.
If you want a trainer route for most games. WeMod is worth looking into.
Oh~, neat. Just tried poking around.
Been quite a while since I played something easy enough to modify for Notepad editing to work.
Have had lousy luck in this game, so think I'll go restart, and give myself a pip or two in every skill so I can actually GET anywhere.
(And yeah, yeah. I've heard you're meant to fail in this game, but it's just no fun when your dice keep hitting those darn 3% failure rates on your signature skill, and does so repeatedly.)
What you'll want to do is search for "level" which will lead you to your skill points and money. Only modify your levels that way, other ways are more likely to break the game. I'd suggest 5 points or 12 if you want to use them for cabinet space (which I highly recommend if you don't plan on giving yourself 100 skill points)
Edit: I want to note that some rolls are always failures regardless of your stats.
Hmm...
Was thinking of upping the base levels a bit, but yeah, that sounds safer for stability's sake. Thanks for the tip.
