Is this game for me ?
Hello fellow detectives,

Im uncertain if this is the right game for me, for example: I will not have that much spare-time due to university + work. Maybe only on sundays

I was looking forward to my first isometric RPG, I do own Divinity Original Sin 1 but I have not tried it yet, because it is said to be an enormous RPG and Im afraid I wont accomplish much with my time-limits. I thought Disco Elysium might be a better pick with its different endings and its relaxing non-combat playstyle. Or is it as timeconsuming because of its dialogues ?

It definitely does look interesting tho and a (mostly) text-driven RPG might be the right thing to calm down after a long day.

thanks in advance :)

Don't take him seriously, the game isn't super deep to the point that you won't "get" it. However, the language is quite advanced, and catching all the jokes and fully understanding all the dialogue requires a pretty high level of fluency. I would recommend you try it and refund before the 2 hour mark if you're having trouble.

It is very text-driven, but it's not particularly demanding in the way that learning Div OS is. It flows pretty logically, and probably better suits relaxing after a day of other responsibilities.

Thank you ! sounds like I'll give it a shot. It being not as learn demanding as Div OS is a huge PLUS for me.

I have one more question: Im not a native english speaker, I hope Disco Elysium doesnt require such english skills. Im fine with netflix in english, for example, but since this is a text-driven RPG Im a little sceptical

No

That might be tougher, the language is quite literary, and has terms that might be difficult if English isn't your first language. It's not like reading an academic text, but it'd be challenging because of how dense it is.

It's not even about the language barrier you'd face.
OP just doesn't strike me as someone who'd appreciate it for what it is.
Hell, I bet even the majority of people who play this won't get it.
The game needs a maturity rating of 30 and over.
If you want a detective's game play L.A. Noir, Disco is more like a book about the soul and tragedy of a man.

To be fair you need a pretty high IQ to enjoy Disco Elysium.

wanted to give you an update: im ~6 hours in, still on the first day and Im really enjoying it.

It's really well written, eventhough there are some "difficult" words for non-native speaker, it's fun and made me laugh a couple times

thanks for your help!
