How do I consume drugs/alcohol?

For some reason, I had to first un-equip the Frittte bag, which was in my other hand. I don't remember there being a restriction on dual-wielding while taking drugs, but whatever. The icon appeared only when I did this.

The second thing is that the mouse detection on the drug icon was really buggy for me for some reason, I had to really gently move the mouse over it, a bunch of times, before it became clickable.

Pretty sure this is a BUG, I wonder if it's associated with the Oct 14 patch. I just got this game. I can't select the bottom right icons unless I move a few pixels below them, and even then it's super narrow.

I'm playing with a Steam controller so I'll probably rebind to use controller buttons. L3 and R3 activate the items in your hands.

I tried smoke / drink but nothing happens.

First time used both went ok. A pop up was clicked, then the dialogue options, then bonuses were applied

Now, a small box (down right) with a number (4?). Perhaps these are hours to go? Same pixel problem veggisama happens, no click allowed

Finally worked!! point cursor slightly below the item box on bottom right corner (It wont work if u point directly, maybe it a bug) u will see that the frame color change, now u can click it.

I am not sure if this helps -- because I stumbled on this discussion hoping for answers as well. I'm playing Final Cut on the Mac, and drugs were unavailable to me until I realized that the box in the right-hand corner has a ludicrously small "click area" It works just fine, but I had to hover the cursor like 1mm below the box that highlights the drug you have held in your hand. It was a dumb failing on my part, and an lack of QC from ZA/UM. Anyway -- hope it is that simple for y'all.

My solution was to click propperly. In the bottom right you can see what do you have equipped on both hands, clicking on them will use them, it's just a bit misplaced, make sure you see it "glowing in white" when you click on it.

same i can use all but not speed pills, even if i click right when it turns "glowin in white" wierd, need to contact devs
