What is the skill check to open this memory cabinet?

the thought, not cabinet. cabinet has slots to put thoughts in

i think i unlocked it by opening a secret compartment on my blue folder/notepad thingy and reading the note

Yeah it is unlocked that way, but you need a certain skill to meet the check and I don't know what it is.

I did that and never got the thought. I was a 4224 build.

After opening the compartment and reading the note, your character collapses and gets into a dream state conversing with Reptilian Brain and Limbic System. If my memory serves right, the Bow Collector is unlocked during that sequence, although I don't remember if an additional skill-check was actually required.

I had a much similar build to yours (5223) and managed to obtain it, so possibly you accidentally missed it by clicking "No! Don't think about that!" or some similar dialog option.

I'm gonna smoke, drink, and do that radiation drug (I love this game lol) and spend 3 points in mobility and I'll be like a 5/4/4/3 so I'll let you guys know what I get

I'm pretty sure (like 80%) that Interfacing is what's required to succeed the skill-check mentioned by Pe4enie, where my memory is failing is whether or not there was another skill-check afterward.

I set my interfacing to 5 and am still not getting the skill check.

Hmm, there might be a quick dialog-based Perception check beforehand to actually unlock the option, but I'm pretty sure that the main skill-check (with a clear % to succeed) is based on Interfacing.

That's what I personally remember from memory, take it for what it is.

Ok, figured it out (I think) but it came down to having conceptualization of 6. Also, there is no skill check it just appears.

So if you @Enigma we wearing the shirt you had at the begining it would of been available. There is a slight perception check at the end so I could see where you got that from.

Maybe? I think I was deliberately going for what my inner voices didn't want me to go for. Let me check. ... Yeah, I still didn't get the Thought, only White Mourning. Maybe it's a mystery skill check I didn't have the stats to see, never mind pass.

EDIT: Yep, raising Conceptualization helped here.

Hi, sorry for bringing back old thread.

I remember reading the note and getting the dream few days ago, but I think I failed the check. Can I go back to that dream event or do I already miss my chance to get the thought?

You can only read the letter/get the dream once, as far as I know. I think I read somewhere that the passive Conceptualization check isn't too high, just a matter of rolling decently well.
