Talking to egg head

I am at the point at the story where i have to help Soona with her project in the church. The quest log says I have to talk to Egg head so that he plugs in a cable. Thing is, when i talk to him i have no dialogue option about the cable. I tried every other dialogue option but couldn't proceed. Help much appreciated!

You just have to figure out what speech patterns get him going. Try speaking him again choosing different options until you get through.

Egg Head is a puzzle.

A HARD-CORE puzzle.

But is he?

> Persevere. Cracking Egg Head is basically a dialogue chain maze. It takes a while to find your way through the other side trying different combinations. You'll get there.

I probably spent around 8 minutes navigating the maze that is Egg Head. It was very cool, and very HARD CORE (but seriously I'd recommend taking notes on a piece of paper to see which paths lead to dead ends. It helps immensely)

It's trial and error. You'll figure it out, you just have to explore the dialogue pathways. It's a maze.

is it a maze though? to me it looked like the "correct" choices were obvious, except the final one was locked until i did the dance (but some of my skills warned me about that, by saying that i'd need to get a certain level of "idiocy" to proceed)

Definitely not locked. You can crack the Egg Head code while the ravers are still in their tent during first meeting.

hmm, i don't have a pre-dance save anymore, but i just re-tried it after the dance, and i'm pretty sure i exhausted all paths before the final one, and they were all dead ends. i just have to keep saying nothing up until the end. maybe there are other conditions to enable them earlier.

I think it goes like this

[say something] -> [he responds A]
[say nothing then say something] -> [he responds B]
[say nothing twice then say something] -> [he responds C]
[say nothing three times then say something] -> [he responds D]
[say nothing then say A B C D in order] -> Maze solved

I don't think that the options to say ABCD appeared until he'd said them to me. So if you tried to solve it exhaustively with a pen and paper if you did it in the wrong order you could miss the solution because you think you've done everything at the end of a chain but a new dialogue option is added to it latter.

i doubt it. i re-checked it, doing several runs then reloading from the beginning, and i'm pretty sure the options at each stage are exactly the same regardless of what you picked previously. i strongly suspect that i couldn't complete it the first time because my character passed the final intellect-based check instead of failing it (and doing the dance just removes that check altogether).

This took me forever. Here is the solution:

He says: True, hard, full core
(1) Say nothing - *Correct*
a. Still say nothing (True, hard, full core)
• Say nothing (hardcore to the mega)
a. Say nothing
• Still say nothing (Internally Coherent)
• I was wondering if you knew who killed the merc hanging behind the whirling rags?
 Still say nothing (all Core!)
• Say nothing
o So hard core (HAAAARDCORE)
 It Is!
• The questions is, what is the question
