(Spoilers) The Missing Insects Case?

I've asked Cuno, and the step is crossed out. It says "the local kids might know," but I've spoken to both Cuno and Cuenoess(?), the twins, the sister in the house, and still can't find any continued steps.

I have the thought to use, but I have no skill points to clear my current thoughts, so I can't implement it. I've also not figured out how to get to the island yet, so I can't get over there if there are any kids over there.

Am I just getting ahead of myself, and need to wait until I get to the island? Or am I missing something on the mainland?
