You can read old case files in your ledger, each case file takes 30 minutes in-game time to read.

As Sisyphus said, you can read books, though be aware that some books require you to pass skillchecks to get something out of it.

You could follow up on dialogues or try to get more information from other people again if you haven't spoken to people in a while.
