Ending questions (spoilers)
So there is that big insect in the end. Does it appearing makes the ending "good"? Has anyone seen it go aggressive with the detectives, or did it not appear at all, for some? It feels to me like a "True Ending" stuff, if you initiate a dialogue with it.
I would have also liked some "conclusion" slides for the whole troupe: Joyce, Ervart, Lena and others.
Overall the game is outstanding, and could use some more elaborating on its concepts. I, for one, am extremely interested whether the developers thoroughly thought the pale out as a concept, whether it ends somewhere, whether it has a final act, or what is it. According to the dialogues, it's like an anti-existential part of humanity that spilled over into the reality. But I hope there is more to it.

I really am buying into this purgatory theory, but isn't this game in the same world as a book? I figured most of the game it was just one of those alternate world situations, where you have a drunk on another world than ours seeing things post bender.

The purgatory theory though seems so plausible in the way that they sit and watch the tide lower to get inside the car. Considering there is tire tracks and damage all throughout town I could see that being where he died.

There is also a great foreshadowing, a call-back or call-forward whatever - if you shoot the body down and pass the Inland Empire check, you can ask "who killed you man", and the answer is:"... communism".

If you talk to him a bit more and ask him about a contradiction in "his" words he says: "Communism killed me, but love did me in".

double foreshadowing

And then you can keep referencing it throughout the game.

The wife... it wasn't even his wife. and it's been 6 or 7 years ago said his partner. I assume the low percentage on the "Enemy Of The Physical Realm" achievement is because not many people actually made it to call and talk to her (before banging the phone twice, giving the achievement). Anyhow, I wonder if you get all the end information without discovering her name.
Also, the relationship to her seemed to be the main reason for Harrys breakdown. I felt that was a bit weak, just explained with "she was super hot, you never got over it" o.O? And suddenly (after 6 years) you drink yourself into oblivion. And your partners just stand by and watch "you told us to ♥♥♥♥ off" o.O? Maybe I misread something but the whole reasoning for Harrys initial state is a bit shallow.
how do you call her and when?
On my first play thorough during Tribunal, Kim got shot and i ended up with Cuno as partner. I met with insect but no picture (Kim Has Camera) and they didn't believe me. after that i said all crazy stuff, droped my badge and said i want to quit but they still take me back.
The payphones just south of the boardwalk and just west of the church.

I made calls on that phone but it was only random prank calls.
I didn't really like the ending. I understood it, and I got the metaphors, I just didn't care for the direction they took with the shooter.

I can't remember what check it was, but at some point he dialed a number from muscle memory, that was her. No idea if there were previous events necessary for that.

Well sure, your personal enjoyment is what you experience. You can't deny, however, that it perfectly ties in into the whole discourse into human history-mess

You have to make all the prank calls you can first, then there's an Interfacing check.

From my playthrough, during the last dream, I had a dialogue that mentionned the ex not only left Harry, but apparently aborted their coming child only to have a child with someone else?

That would ♥♥♥♥ me up.

did you sleep after talking to the deserter? That's what triggered the dream with the ex.

Dark. I somehow missed that bit during the dialogue.

No I didn't. From what I've read it's a bummer that was optional :/
