Morale Critical instant Game Over?
Hey fellas,

I was really enjoying the game, for the first hour and a half, getting to know the NPC's that I came across etc. However, after spending almost an hour talking with the bartender, Kim, the lady you meet outside your room, getting several success checks and completing a few "secret" tasks, feeling pretty good about myself you know? I get to an 8% success rate check to convince Kim that there is a "sexy dark otherworldly twist" to the case. I knew there was little chance of me succeeding, but I wanted to try just for the fun of it. I failed of course, and all of a sudden I get a "morale critical!" message, and instantly am put into a dark mental state where my ONLY dialogue options are various ways of saying "♥♥♥♥ it I quit". There was literally no option to keep going, every one was negative. So I clicked the least negative sounding one, still failed, and got a game over screen.

Then I go to reload the game figuring the game would be kind and give me a relatively close autosave (I had done quite a bit of talking and experience gaining), but nope! The most recent save was when I first walked out of my room. What the hell game? If youre going to hit me with an instant game over for failing a silly dialogue check you should at least do me the courtesy of giving me an autosave close by so I dont lose an hour and a half of gametime. Is the rest of the game like this? Am I going to have to be manually saving every 5 minutes or risk losing hours of progress to a failed check?

I was really excited for this game but man that just put a damper on my motivation to jump back in.

Someone suggesting a stat array for you (4 INT, 4 PSY, 2 FYZ, 2 MOT). It gives you 4 points in Volition/Morale (Psyche) and 2 in Endurance/Health (Physique). But you don't have to do that. Just save often and in different slots. Or be a little careful about what checks you roll if your Morale is low.

Morale can be tricky, Health hits are usually pretty obvious, but because you're so depressed already it can be easy to take unexpected Morale damage. But as long as you've got the 20 Real for the second night, everything will get a lot easier on Day 3. You can afford to buy a few packs of Hypnogamma from the Fritte, or on a particularly bad day you can just read until bedtime and rest.

The best thing you can do is to quick save(F5) before every white or red check you do, that way if you fail or somehow die by only having 1 bar on your health count, you can get right back to where you were moments ago.
&don’t beat yourself up about messing up - that’s what you’re supposed to do on the first playthrough. I played to about the halfway point and then read about some thoughts that were basically necessities from day 1 that I never set up & was waaaay more prepared and successful on my second playthrough after internalizing them :)
This game can be played an endless amount of ways, just consider that first one to be one of them checked off the list ^.^

The game is meant to be understood by trial and fail.
Dying by sitting in a chair ? Check, and many others...

After a while, one understands the mechanics, and adapts, and ofc, F5 helps enormously.
No idea why some don't get it ...
