Tribunal (Major spoilers)
I have yet to see someone passing it peacefully, without bloodshed. Seeing what comes next, I assume bloodshed is inevitable to make the plot move forward. Am I correct or has anyone managed to avoid a shoot-out?

Yeah, that is like the biggest gripe I have with this game. They did not go after 100%. Stopped at 99%.

A question about this in the rhetoric challenge did anyone else get any bonuses beside downwall? I feel like that is the one that if im missing something from its that.

Nah, in the devblog, Rhetoric is specifically described as not actually changing anyone's mind, it just pisses them off.

These guys were brought in because they were bloodthirsty killers. Seeing their friend lynched by a mob, left there for a week to rot... you're not going to talk them out of the pound of flesh they want.

There are quite some like this. But they are important to tell the story the way the developers want to. So... nothing we can do about them, I'm afraid.

That makes no sense. IF you don't want to let us do something, why even create a check in the first place? Create a check then rigged it for storytelling purpose is bascially a F***K YOU to the people who play the game.

If you want something to happen, make it a part of the story instead of "Your choices matter until we don't want it to ."

The check isn't useless though, as every check you pass rattles the mercenary, giving you a +1 bonus for the check that matters (headshot!). If you pass all the rethoric/empathy/etc checks, I think you get a +4 bonus total.

I think he is more upset about the 20 checks that are actually impossible even when you roll 21. There are several of them, but the story is structured around them not being passable. They are important. In life, not every obstacle can be overcome.

Either complete 2 tasks for Evrart (union boss) or let Ruby kill herself and you will find another gun on her body.

Oh, so that's how you get to recruit him?

Speaking of, I been playing all game with Kim, but the recruit kim achievement is still locked, is that normal?

Yep. You get the achievement for recruiting Kim for Station 41, not just for adding him to the party.

Yes, that's at the very end of the game. If you have been a good cop and so on, it's possible to recruit Kim.

So it is fixed. My character had high logic, suggestion, empathy, rhetoric, all that sort of stuff so I kept getting all these intermediate "successes" but couldn't change the outcome. It was frustrating and I tried multiple times...at least if there isn't a check, you know you can't do it.

Though I suppose I should have been prepared from the Klaasje conversations where all my different skills were giving me mixed information, not to be able to trust that a "success" would really get me what I wanted.

Ichthyic Jan 4, 2020 @ 9:46pm
it's not entirely fixed. who lives and who dies IS skewed by your choices and skill successes.

the best you can do is:

3 union guys die
all 3 mercs die

but you CAN do worse.

Experiment Jan 6, 2020 @ 12:45am
What's the worst outcome? I had the 3 union guys die - I assume more of them can die, then?
Ichthyic Jan 6, 2020 @ 1:48am
if you start talking about the fact that the union workers didn't do it... and fail your check there... the lawyer girl dies.

if you refuse to act first and leave the merc leader alive, titus dies.

if you fail your check for your partner, he can get shot in the chest.

so yeah, it can get a LOT worse.
