Determine where the shot came from?

For this task, I still have to check 'the boardwalk' and 'island', but I feel like I've lost track of where exactly that means I should be going. I've been across everywhere I can go that seems appropriate multiple times, and can't seem to find the spots I should check. I feel anxious about advancing other quests and the time without addressing this. Anyone know where to go?

Basically you can't solve that one without progressing in the story. You can't find it just wandering around the islet, after the first one.
