Evrart office bug *possible spoiler*
So I try to talk with the union leader Evrart and as soon as I sit down in the chair I get a heart attack. Only way to advance the discussion is to sit down in the chair. I even randomly get heart attack when entering his office. Is this a bug or working as intended?

Make sure you have at about three hit points when you go into any stressful encounter, as a failed roll can cause you damage and if you're low on health, that damage will kill you. You may also want to increase your Composure, as I believe that's the skill that helps you in stressful situations (check the skill descriptions to make certain that's the one).

There is food for sale at the store to heal you, and drugs to give you more morale (hitting 0 Morale will also kill you).

Also, the little numbers above your hit points are the number of times per day that you can heal that stat one block. If your stats are full, healing items you pick up will go into those numbers - just click on it to heal you a point.

You literally have to talk to him to be able to leave. So if you entered the area with not enough healing items, you can't escape and have to load a previous save before you went inside or start all over.... yea... fun. (The most "fun" part of this encounter is the damage is applied to you no matter how high any stat actually is. There's no roll involved, you just take dmg.)

Thanks for the reply! I guess I´m screwed because I can´t get out of the docks since I can only get out by talking to him and I have no healing items or means to increase my composure. So I just lost about an hours worth of progress because I did not save before entering the docks. The game should be a little more clear about these things In my opinion.

How did you get into the docks? You should be able to get out the same way. Otherwise, follow the tops of the containers and such around until you get to the office and leave by the door. Unless the door is locked because you jumped in, in which case you might be screwed.

Also, the game is kinda designed with the idea that you'll fail as part of the overall experience, which is cool when it doesn't kill you or your last save wasn't an hour ago.

Ok I randomly got through it by clicking the health button when I was dying of the heart attack. Then my character just lost one point of health and complained that the chair is uncomfortable. Not sure if clicking that health bar did anything or if I just cleared some invisible roll that time. Which would be strange since the game has up to this point showed the rolls which are crucial for dying or living. But yeah I like the mechanics that you can die of stress etc. I just didn´t appreciate being stuck in an area with no way out but all is well now :)

Yes, that's the little button I was referring to, each time you click on it, the number inside lowers but it heals 1 bar of damage - there is one over Health and another over Morale. The game does reference the button early in play but it's not made very clear what they are talking about - they need to add an arrow or something to draw your attention to it, so you understand what it means.

Those little buttons refill after you rest and when you pick up healing items while your health is already full the item raises that number, instead. I think my default for health is 2 or 3 uses per day, but I've collected so many Morale healers that I have over 9 of them on call if I need them. I find that I go through a lot more health than morale, but that's probably because of the skills I've chosen - as I put very little into my physique.

Yea its true I completely missed that mechanic. But now that I know it I can appreciate it! Makes the conversations feel like boss fights in other games! :D Glad it wasn't a bug. I also made my character a physical weakling on account of his looks and the binge drinking. Next playthrough going for the opposite route: big and strong but thick as a brick! :D
