On censorship...

The only reason why I feel the need to say anything on this is because of how much of immersion breaker and even character development break that the censorship of this certain "F" word creates.

The dialogue reactions were reasonable and even from an offended stand point. However, feeling offended is subjective.

To have this occur early on in the game is disappointing. This is because everything afterwards respects the player and gives the player the option to play according to their subjective needs.

In fact the reason why I love this game so far is because you have handed me the responsibility of carving my own experience. I can see my own personal thoughts and ideas about events being framed in the dialogue. I can play out and challenge views I agree with or disagree with.

Whatever the choice is, it is mine. No other game has created that experience for me quite as deep.

They saved the moral judgement for the end of the game. Apparently i am a womanhater for calling the chick sleeping arround with multiple guys in a matter of weeks and doing drugs a degenerate. Morals bad.

None of those actions have anything to do with morality. You use the word "morals" like religious fundamentalists refer to sex outside of marriage as a sin.

On the subject of the word fa​ggot, I would propose the game censor it depending on player actions. If someone plays as a liberal character defending free speech, it comes off as very tone-deaf to censor that word. If, however, the player plays as an authoritarian moralizer, then it would make sense to censor that word.

I'm contemplating returning it before i pass the 2 hour mark.
This game was billed to me as unflinching and potentially offensive pulling no punches and within the first 20 minutes its flinching and pulling punches.

I hope this isnt indicative of the rest of the game.
I dont care about anyones thoughts on slurs, if your gonna use them narratively don't censor them.
If you feel like you have to jus use something else.

It was just there, but the censorship itself was jarring. If they wanted to use it they should just have left it. It was going to be a breath of fresh air for someone in California where if you breath incorrectly they will punish you

For some reason the self censoring of the word ♥♥♥♥♥♥ was intentional and not for censoring, not sure if it was for humor or something, but for me it didn't break immersion. Hell if there is one thing this game doesn't hold back is in the bad words department.

It's odd. As a bi guy I would have neither noticed nor cared about this, except it's the only censored thing in the game.

I dunno. I think artists and people in general should be able to say whatever they want, and I should be free to decide whether or not they're worthless human beings based upon the things that they say.

I know it isn't true because despite the claim having been made multiple times, no one has documented it. If it were true, by now we would have YouTube videos showing it. Yet there's no confirmation that it's true, what so ever. So it obviously isn't.

You're talking out of your ass, conservatives are the ones who always wanted to ban video games and blame them for mass shootings and stuff, liberals are simply critics of the media and its influence which is using their free speech to say something like "hey maybe noone gets anything out of using this word so we will just censor it"

Liberals are the ones who steal private information and use ot against people, like liberal companies Facebook and Google.
