[Spoiler] Where is [Spoiler character]?
Where is Ruby? I've done the murder mystery up until investigating the West Coast and I also completed the Boat Woman's quest giving some information about what Ruby was doing, her issues, and equipment.

I've wandered all around the West Coast and all I can find is the woman in the church and the music players and it seems to lead to a deadend. Is there a place that I missed where Ruby is supposed to be?

The mural on the Fend building helped me find her.

Hey OP, can you help me with lorries quest? I talked with all of them but can't progress further.
Krauthaus Oct 18, 2019 @ 3:26am
I am standing in front of the mural, nothing happens. Only text-choice "Could she be in there?" - Nothing else. No orb, no hint, no nothing. Looks like this quest mural is a dead end. (only qeust i have atm besides the mystery weapon)

Edit: The mural only works with kim as your compagnion, if you are alone wait for him to return.)

You have to look closer at the mural to get the quest to follow up with the ladder or the pipe below where your standing to show up . May take specific levels of a certain skill to show up like most other stuff.
And i haven't found another way into her lair either.
Try exhausting all dialogue about ruby with the old fishwife and find the clue in the hut.

Can't find her. More or less searched everywhere on the coast 10x times. I'm stuck in front of that wall. My cop being awful at physique and motorics, I just can't pass the Shivers check. Even though I found the "clue", fully talked to everyone, reconstructed the execution and solved the optionnal alcoholic-dead-guy-on-the-boardwalk's case all by myself.

Any clue here ? It's very possible I did something wrong.

You need to pass the Shivers check. That's the only way. (Yes, for a game which is promoted as "play how you want" and "accept your consequences and don't savescum", it does have at least some issues with progression.)

If you don't have a skill point to put into Shivers to attempt the locked check again, you could try reading some books in the bookstore for XP to get another point. Failing that, save-scum the Shivers check.

Thank you a lot !

But, just wtf. At least the game mentions something like "search the coast OR return to the Feld whatever-thing".

So, either it's a bug and some item or event does not appear IG, either they rushed the initial release date despite the game being not finished.

Disco Elysium is a wonderful piece of art. I just find the trailers to be kind of lying about the real amount of possibilities and the size of the world IG.

This game is more about being the continuous and personalized commentary of some corridored gameplay than an RPG with unlimited freedom of choice.

Whatever, thank you a lot. Saved my life.

Hi Karma! I dont know if u finally make it. But i just ended the secondary task of Lena (the one in the wheelchair, who is in the hotel) and it rised my chances on the wall (just a little, 17% but i made it with that!). Maybe ending secundary quests gives you more chances!
(Sorry about my english, by the way).
I hope it helps!

For various side quests, you do indeed get bonuses to making that specific Shivers check.

This is very annoying. I failed the check and Kim told me I should keep wandering around the coast looking, but I've found the clue hidden in the shack and spoken to everyone about her and it appears there's nothing left to find. In my opinion, the game should not tell me I need to keep looking if that's not going to progress anything - it's not fun, it's just wasting my time. If the only way forward is to pass the Shivers check, then telling me otherwise is just frustrating.

I also feel like I'm being punished for my character build if the only way to progress the main plot is to save-scum. Oh well.

There is a passage right under the Feld mural, but can't be spotted in any way without getting into the building by passing the shivers test.

I saved scum. Found Ruby, triggered some "unhappy event", failed the most part of it.

Even though I had some serious reasons to go to the island before all of this happens, the game doesn't allow me to do so. I can't even ask to sailors/whatever about it. I can't check the Feld's boardwalk for bullets.

Really feel like the game robbed me from my efforts. Looks like some events don't trigger at all.

Thank you for your answer Vamir !

The game is pointing you to keep looking around the coast because the more you actually accomplish on the coast, the more bonuses to that shivers check you accumulate. If you complete every coastal questline and activity you get a whopping +19 bonus to the check. Considering the check is for a 20 roll, even a player with a shivers score of 1 will have a 97% chance to pass it if they've actually done everything. It's the games way of saying, "Hey, there's still more to do, but if you really want to you can bypass a lot of it."

You're not being punished for your character build. You're not even being punished for wanting to skip half the sidequests. You're being given the option to skip them, it's just that the ways to do so aren't entirely painless.
Here's image proof of being able to get +19 in modifiers to that check, it may also be of some help in figuring out what to do next if you're struggling with it:

Devs always told about the fact you're not obliged to do absolutely everything.

It's about liberty of choice, and you can have the choice to do thing you are not pleased to.

I did not get the signatures for Evrart, since I don't like him. I did not found the club (I arrested them ; I never found Pig ; I did not went on a date ; I did not discover the anomaly even though I fully talked through everything about the radio stuff°.

I just have the empty trap, the reconstructed execution, the jacket, and the death notification (you can not take the case...).

35 hours of play on this run. I basically talked to everyone about everything, went everywhere.

But, of course, I "did not" play the game.

You are not talking about just playing the game, you are talking about the Most Effective Tactic Available. I have the right to do different choices, and to do not do things that do not please me. This is a damn "true" (or supposed so) RPG, not some multiplayer contest about who got the best ending or who "really" played the game.
