H3AD-5T v2 + Loader doesn't work

Played with a friend, he played MUL-T and I played Loader. Both of us had H3AD-5T v2 and he could use it normally, but when I used it there would be no explosion/damage on impact.

Probably because Loader doesn't take fall damage.

Did you press (or maybe hold) the button to use it (E for keyboard I believe) or just try to land on things? It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize you have to actually press something to do the ground-pound. One of my friends had to point it out.

Would they really make a red item completely useless to a character though?

The most recent update supposedly fixed it. Is it still happening?

Edit: Oh wait, that was the loader bit. Never mind.
