jump pads on Final stage

Hello friends,
I just wish to know if it is possible to control the trajectory when you jump pad on final stage (Commencement). I was playing captain with 2 quail, 1 whip and 1 feather (only items that affects movement). I entered the jump pad and it sent me high above, but I didnt make it to Mithrix arena. I tried double jumping but it was just too far.
I was playing on Eclipse5. I died. and cried. Of all the stupidest and most frustrating ways I have died in this game, this was top1.

when you step into a jump pad all your movement is gone. You can regain it with jump however this negates the jump pad movement.

So if I normal jump (not counting feathers) during the jump pad animation, the movement from the pad is canceled?
Cause I stepped into the jump pad and waited (as always), but this was the first time I couldnt reach the arena. I second jumped after I realized I wasnt gonna reach it
Could this be a bug then?

I frequently get shot into the side of the arena instead of inside it from the jump pads and end up having to fall all the way down. The best advice I can give is to jump onto the edge of the pad and walk into it. If you have extra jumps or anyway to avoid fall damage I'd save those to prevent fall damage.

Usually you gotta try to land on the side of the jump pad then walk into it. Sometimes other factors can make it send you farther than expected.
