how are you supposed to handle a milion wisp at the begining of the game
its kind of hard to deal with wisp when they keep respawning and a bunch of them spawn at the tp event it, theres just too many to run away so they miss when they are all over the place and chip damage me and keep me from healing

Unless you play commando every character has some kind of AOE to deal with them. If you do play commando though then your best bet is to focus on them as fast as you can and try to run away until the area is safer.

even commando has a linear piercing skill that can deal with some properly lined up wisps.

Commando: just shoot em
huntress: boomerang go doonkadoonkadoonk
engineer: what wisps?
merc: literally dashing through everything
mulT: nailgun go brr
Artificer: shocking revelations
Loader: also shocking revelations
Captain: shotgun has huge pushback so slamming them into a surface will usually finish them off
Rex & Acrid: eh get a ukulele?

1) Well, first of all - it's all about the priority of enemies, wisps are actually literally the worst enemies in the game, and as a rule, you need to kill them first before of any other enemy. Even if you have 5 bosses at a time and around 50 other enemies, you usually need to kill wisps first.
Even if it seems to you that being distracted by wisps is spending too much time - no, you need to be distracted by wisps. At least until you get enough AoE.
Of course, this does not apply to the absolute 100% of cases, there are enemies such as elite golems or clay templars etc, but nonetheless.

2) AoE items. Ukulele, wisp in a bottle, gasoline. etc. Even a some of these items make life easier. This is especially important for characters with a weak starting AoE.

3) Repulsion armor is super effective against Wisps, even 2-3 stacks make their damage negligible (reduces to 1 damage as a rule) and allows you to tank them all day.

And yes, f*ck the wisps. :winter2019angrybulb:

maybe im just being big baby man but the way it seems you have to handle them early on just seems less hard and more annoying if youre playing a character thats not good at dealing with a bunch of weaker enemys

Well, yes. The Wisps are absolutely the most annoying enemy in the game even if they can't actually kill you (but they actually can) . And the fact that they need to be paid much more attention than others makes them much more annoying. But that's the whole point of these enemies, I suppose...

By listening for their spawn and shooting them before they can attack you. Not /s. While moving the hell away if it's a lot.

oh boy cant wait to show you eclipse 8 captain to where that health chip is permanent for the stage and you have -50% healing so if you dont have a healing drone or transcendance its a pain in the ass
Zeddy Sep 11, 2020 @ 2:54am
Buy a drone.
DaBa Sep 11, 2020 @ 3:50am
They die really fast, so you just focus fire them for a couple of seconds and they're all dead. Later on they just die from collateral damage or AOE, but early on you should kill them as they appear. If you ignore them, they will grow in numbers and become an actual threat. Focus on killing them and you won't have any problems with them early on.

You dont say the problem I was having was I'd kill a group and then an other spawned every 2 seconds when I was playing captain
Vahnkiljoy Sep 11, 2020 @ 12:01pm
What's the issue? Wisps are easy mode for the captain, free money, sounds like you had the wisp only modifier for the map.
