Celestine elites
So... What do they actually do? Had one spawn, had a gigantic bubble around it. The bubble didn't seem to do anything, it wasn't a DoT effect, it didn't make enemies regen, it didn't deflect projectiles when I went outside the bubble and threw some fireballs at it. I killed it while I had Wake of Vultures and... Nothing happened. I didn't even get the cool bubble.

So what do they actually do?

I'm not entirely sure, but a beetle (I think that's the name) had one. All the enemies inside went invisible for a bit.

I can only guess its something you cant see on screen, or something that's too subtle to notice right away - perhaps it prevents experience gain, diminishes armor rating, reduces certain item/skill effects or makes mobs immune to item/skill effects.

I believe they simply render enemies within their bubble invisible, and immune to auto-target effects, such as Disposable Missile Launcher. That's all I know about them, though. Haven't encountered them yet, that's just what I've heard from others.

After running a game for about 2 hours trying to get Engineer's new abilities unlocked, celestine enemies only make invisibility auras. That's it. Makes enemies unable to be targeted by auto-targeting abilities including turrets, but they're still vulnerable to AoE effects like the Ukulele. Celestine enemy stacks can also render each other invisible.

Not all that useful with Wake of Vultures, but making ghosts of them with Happiest Mask could have some useful applications since allied celestine mobs can make you and other minions invisible.

I could be wrong, but I feel like they're bulkier when they're invisible.

Basically, celestines make all of their allies invisible BUT not themselves. They are usually in the center of the circle, if you cannot find them on the ground, they are in the air, like a wisp. I also had celestine's ability on me with Vulture (the elite stealer item) it did the same. I was not inivisble but my minions/allies were. But a fun fact: You can still target invisible targets with Royal Capacitator.

Celestine doesn't turn yourself invisible?? ... Here I was excited for wake of vultures. I actively don't want everyone but me to turn invisible. 9/10 times I only hire people so the enemy shoots at something besides me.

Wait if they can turn each other invisible, then if 2 of them are near each other and you're playing huntress are you just unable to attack? The impression I'm getting here is that you'd only be able to damage them with your R until they move out of range of each other.

I actually managed to run into a 'hoard of many' with Celestine wisps, and I don't *think* they turned each other invisible? I could be wrong, pretty sure I was running Commando's 20 stage no lunar deal, so if they did turn invisible I may not have noticed.

i believe they can indeed turn eachother invisible, though i have noticed that as soon as something takes damage they uncloak, so a huntress would just have to use R on one of them and then she can target it no problem.

If no one else has said it:

Celestines also ressurect enemies killed within the aura, akin to a happy mask effect, but theyre hostile towards you

well then, that makes yesterday's run where both my friends died and I was left fighting a glacial titan solo even more hopeless. Are you sure they do that? That seems overpowered.
Saobie Sep 20, 2019 @ 12:06am
Positive. Me and my bro fought one, and neither of us had a happy mask, and i was seeing ghost enemies, but they targeted me and i targeted them

They also have an IMMENSE hp boost, like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skyrocketed hp boost. The celestine literally took 7 or 8min of nonstop combat to kill, on loop 2 level 2
