Dedicated Server and Larger Lobbies

I ran a dedicated server off my computer a few weeks ago and it worked swimmingly with 8 people (yes, we all died. It was great). I was able to install the dedicated server and edit the .cfg files to properly handle the amount of people.

However, it seems that this last update has broken the dedicated server software and I can not get anything to work. There was a mod that allowed for the private hosted lobbies from the Steam game to have x amount of people, but the mod has depreciated. Does anyone have a workaround?

Yeah just want to confirm this happened to me as well. Players could join but when the game started we were just stuck on a black screen,

Same exact thing. I had to do a huge workaround to even get into the lobby.

have something broke with the last update, me and friends get into the lobby, start, and a black screen appear, the server say things like " wrong id from user" something like that

I had the same problem but I got it to work.

Whenever I start the dedicated server a white/empty window with the game title shows up. Only a black screen appears after game launch.

There is a file "/Risk of Rain 2_Data/boot.cfg" in the server directory which has the last line "headless=". This line doesn't exist in the identically named boot.cfg from the main game directory.
Simply removing the line from the file makes it so that whenever I run the dedicated server, a window with game content appears instead of the white/empty one.

We can now connect and play on the server.

It depends on your installation. If you are using Steam (like natural steam), right click on the Dedicated Server and hit "browse local files". Mine is on my secondary drive, so it's location is: E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Risk of Rain 2 Dedicated Server

In the file Risk Of Rain 2_Data there is a file called boot.config, and in that is a line you need to remove.
