Questions on the 3d printer

Is the item the printer takes in random, or is there any preference to it?
Does order you got the items matter, or rarity, or number of stacks an item have any impact on which item is consumed to use the 3d printer?

It takes randomly items, if the printer gives you a tier 1 item the printer will take randomly tiers 1 from you.

Seems to be completely random to me. The only thing I've noticed is that you can't use it unless you have two or more items.

Pretty sure it's one random item for the displayed item. I almost never see anyone use it.

If you see printer with needed item and have a lot not so good item - just use it. Transform warbanners into glasses or fungus (for engineer) is a good choice.

It will randomly Draw from the similar offered item quality's pool
so if 3d print is offering soilder syring is will never take anything but whites in trade

I was finally able to test one out. was really dissapointed when it ate both my gasoline and gave me a sticky bomb lol.

I haven't seen any rhyme or reason to the choice of item it takes besides being the same tier, looks completely random, so it's a risk hoping it takes a more worthless item rather than the ones you want to keep.
If it gives items like soldier's syringe or movement speed it can be worth dumping items in just for unlocks.

When you have about ~15 charges of Equipment item and it is Royal Capacitor with ~3s CD....

My favorite was getting 15 soldier's syringes and having the most insane attack speed I've ever had since.

It consumes items in a completely random manner. You have no control over it. If you have nothing but printed items, then it takes the printed item and pays out with the same printed item.

look at the text of the printer.

if it is white, it will only take tier 1 drops.

green, then it only takes tier 2 drops.

its that easy.
