Also, stomping enemies is really damn powerful. Just saying.
Lets me give you some examples of items:
Paul's Goat Hoof vs Energy Drink - When Drink is perfect choice for Hunt & Merc, for Commando & Rex it gives mostly zero benefit compared to hoof, especially if you have a chance to decide what to take from terminal, that's a perfect time to show how expirienced at the game you are. (Don't want to put Mul-T/Arti/Loader/Eng in one of two categories, because their skillsets working 50/50 together with sprint, so for them both items are equally good)
Aegis - people blaming such item for being so useless, about how Topaz Brooch powercreep this legendary, same as you talking about Headstomp, but the real thing here that it's also very limited on use and goes perfectly only for Eng and Rex.
Notice how useless any ASI item for Arti if you playing without Brainstalks or Backup Mag....
or how Wake of Vultures can totally mess your run on Rex.
or 'VERY hard choice' of Cautious Slug vs Medkit/Fungus for Rex.
It's only for you that item is working in wrong way I guess, because you seems like still haven't tried it together with Arty or Rex, definitely S-tier item for those 2 survivors
For me Unstable Tesla Coil is waaaay more problematic item that is so busted and OP and needs a rework.
It'd be a lot more helpful if you couldn't already dodge everything by walking in a zig-zaggy line. But you can, so the whole thing seems only helpful for taking shortcuts up a wall or something. It helps me dodge more damage in theory, but if you're already avoiding most stuff (which again, bunny hops in a zig-zag) it's not gonna improve things.
Yes, it's true that I don't have to use it, but it's not like it's a harmless crime when it drops instead of something else. Lunar item is a bit much, though. Should probably just be buffed or made to synergize with things better.
And maybe make stuff aim better, so it's more desirable at least.
Edit after some thinking: Having some air-time is pretty helpful for melee or splash based enemies, but I noticed this by using hopoo feathers; not the moon boots.
One hopoo feather offers about the same advantage there, so again I say headstompers are underwhelming.
Yea it can occasionally launch you into orbit when combined with quail.
I have no real issues with it. The stomp does a lot of damage and from what I can tell it makes you completely immune to fall damage.
The changes it makes to your jump make it a pretty bad red IMO, the stomp is powerful if you can do the moon jump but its a pretty situational maneuver, having a feather or two is better in the long run
