Why do enemies eventually stop spawning?

I've reached level 45 and I got the golden shrine but no more enemies are spawning, this has been happening since level 40, there will be enemies in the beginning but no more will spawn, and there are no more teleporter bosses, it just has to charge. I would like to activate the gold shrine but I can't get enough money for it because there aren't any enemies.

Hopoo mentioned it in one of their devblogs. Basically the game can't find any enemies it thinks will be a challenge to you any longer so it doesn't bother. Consider it your pacman kill-screen, a clear sign that you've mastered what's in the game.

• People have gotten far enough into the game that things just... stop spawning. For context, the game skips spawns that it deems is too easy for the number of "spawn credits" it has. If you've gotten to that point congrats, the game thinks Overloading Worms are a bit too easy for you. This will naturally be fixed once higher tier monsters and affixes are added to the game. For now... it means that you terrified the whole planet.
