Is an old CPU i7 6700k enough for this game?
Hi everyone.
I am really interested in this game, but what holds me back is that it is one of those physics game very bound to cpu,as I understood...
I can buy and refund, but in the 2 hours time probably I will not get a fifth of this game capabilities and so I will not be able to properly test it.

My specs are:
I7 6700k - OC'ed to 4.7
Rtx 2070 super
32 GB ram 3.4MHz
Oculus Rift S

The rest I am pretty sure it will be more then enough, but anyone with the samish specs as I can comment please? Or what you guys think overall?

Thanks for any inputs and have a great day!

I play with an i7 6800 and a 1070gtx with 32gb RAM and an HTC Vive. I do not OC.

It's not perfect. I do get crashes from time to time, usually when there are 8-10 NPCs on the field all fighting at the same time. A reboot before launch helps a ton but with my specs I reboot before anything VR.

I play on a 6700k and no overclock. I have never had crashes but sometimes I do drop frames, however I also play with a good chunk of mods. I would say that the CPU is able to power an enjoyable experience in the game. While I've had some jank like frame generation due to it, I never felt like I was unable to have fun, nor did I ever have to lower the graphical quality down to something like the Nomad version.

The dungeon mode also works just fine in case you were wondering if that had any issues. Besides mods, your biggest performance cost will be NPCs and their ragdolls after death. But I think you should be able to handle *at least* 3-4 enemies at once, on most maps. It will vary, as some maps like Citadel are more demanding. (Unsure if it was optimized since its first release).

As a bonus, I use the same headset. I've had no real issues with the tracking besides the usual occasional goof when the controllers are hidden. Its fully playable and very fun with the Rift S. Hope you enjoy the game.

Thanks a lot for your detailed answer @DoomMarine23!
That is really nice to know.
I have bought a couple games this sale (recent VR user here... aquired PinballFX2 VR, which is really really cool, Thrill of Fight, SuperHot VR and Ragnarock) but I will get this game soon.
It seams B&S never goes on sale :/
For what I have seen from gameplay videos and after your comment, for sure I will have some fun

Thank you. Those are some solid VR games you picked up, I think you're going to have a lot of fun. Thrill of the Fight is a genuinely great exercise, good cardio, if you stick with it.

Yeah, definitly a great exercise!
My only problem is the play space required to fully enjoy it, and mine is small, so it turns out more like a brawler then a proper boxing fight 😆 as it becames a bit stationary! But great exercise and fun nevertheless.
Of course, Alyx was my first game, and what a game it is... I even bought it on sale before having the headset, lol
See you mate!
