If you like looter shooters, yes... and no.

Fatal Bullet is by no means a standout in the genre. You'd get a lot more out of Borderlands 2 (maybe 3 if you can stomach the writing) and perhaps even The Division if you haven't played those yet. However, Fatal Bullet is fun despite its many odd design choices, bugs, and unfulfilled potential.

The single player campaign is alright. The maps are interesting enough, dungeons are mostly alright, and combat is serviceable. There are an additional two difficulty levels to play through (similar to how those work in Borderlands), three smaller DLCs, a pretty near expansion, and a free endgame roguelite mode that was added for free as a farewell update.

Multiplayer is meh. Might be the proper endgame when you look at the content and the loot you get from it, but it's pretty dead nowadays and even when it was alive and kicking, it was a mess due to the largely inconsistent net code, causing severe lag for anyone but the host. There are also PVP modes, but those died out much quicker than co-op due in part to lag.

There's no campaign multiplayer like you'd find in Borderlands for example.

Despite everything I just said and the fact that I don't like SAO, this is one of my all-time favourites. I bought it at full price, played for well over 200h, and I regret nothing. Had a lot of fun and it's one of those games I often consider going back to finish content I didn't tackle, such as the roguelite mode. For how much it is right now, it's definitely worth it.

Yes, there is build crafting but it's not at all traditional. You're free to build your character however you want, which will assign them a class which is only a way to say what the build focuses on. There are no established classes and you're not tied to a specific skill tree, instead being free to pick and choose what you want from each ability.
