Anyway, on to the DLCs.
Season pass DLCs consist of DLCs 1 through 3. They tell a single story split threeways.
DLC1: As far as I know, it mostly adds story. It comes with a dungeon in the last free roaming map. This dungeon has a final boss with two variants. The most difficult variant can be used not only to farm up to level 200 (or beyond if you're patient, but by 200 you should be strong enough to farm better bosses), but also to acquire a heavy machine gun that's quite useful throughout endgame. I used it to help me farm some levels before I was ready for the ultimate exp farming, which requires a very specific build to be efficient.
DLC2: Continues the story from DLC1 and adds a dungeon in the Solitary Sands. This is the DLC which adds a quest that enables you to expand your room (when you start the game, whether you have the DLCs or not, there's a door to the right side of your room that's locked, and the quest that comes with DLC2 is the answer to unlocking it). The expansion comes with a few goodies such as a music player, cutscene viewer, a machine where you can hear every character's voice lines, and, most importantly, a machine which allows you to customize your accessories. Accessory customization is done very badly, but it's better than nothing. Also quite useful if you wanna make your character look a specific way with accessories, as you can transfer the abilities from one to the other.
DLC3: Concludes the story from the first two, adds another dungeon, and also a tower defense/Final Fantasy's Demon Wall-esque mode which can be used to farm legendary weapons later on. This DLC also sets up the antagonist for the next SAO game, Alicization Lycoris, which comes out May 22.
DLC4: This is an expansion released after the season pass content had been complete, so it's not part of the season pass. It comes with a whole new snow area, two dungeons, two bosses with their respective harder versions, and a ridiculously unnecessary story filled with fanservice. This DLC's true ending ends in a cliffhanger that will either be concluded in the coming winter free update, or will carry over to Alicization Lycoris. The story aside, I personally like this expansion.
It's important to note that we've had free updates throughout the game's life cycle, and there's at least one more to drop this winter that we know of (if the devs have plans for more, they haven't voiced them yet). These free updates usually expand upon additional modes, especially co-op, which consists of boss rooms (normal mode) and small dungeon challenges (extreme mode). A lot of these come packed with DLC content, such as the Behemoth normal run which is the ultimate way to farm experience up to level cap. However, the devs did a very poor job at disclosing whether the content of these free updates was only available to those who had the DLCs where the content appears or if base game-only users had access to them as well. That's something to consider.
If you wanna get to level 300, by the way, you might need the DLC if you can't find anyone to power level you on co-op. But even then, there won't be content for you to play on that level without the DLCs, nor will you be able to farm weapons such as the Grim Reaper efficiently (the best way to farm it is on DLC4). If you didn't get the DLCs, you'd have to rely entirely on the kindness of strangers to level you up and help you farm weapons on co-op and given how badly designed co-op is, that's the least efficient way to farm weapons (aside from the co-op exclusive weapons, such as the Type Z series).
Before you buy the game altogether, I think it's worth mentioning that, much like Hollow Realization, Fatal Bullet has a lot of good ideas but also quite a lot of problems. Some of them you'll only find once you're playing for yourself, depending if you're bothered by certain mechanics or not. FB is also a largely different experience from HR. It feels like an MMO somoetimes but unlikey HR, you won't get that feeling throughout. The player NPCs you see walking around town and on the fields, for example, are static and you can't befriend them to play together as you can in HR (one of the best aspects of that game imo). The town layout is also a mess. It doesn't feel organic at all and it's so unnecessarily big that the devs added a robust fast travel system accessed from your map (you can literally teleport in front of shops and NPCs).
Lemme know if there's anything else you'd like to know
Basically this means you can play the base game and finish the story then decide if you want to get the DLC's and continue without losing anything by just playing the base game alone
(i meant ys8)
Glad you're enjoying it! If later on (like, second or third playthrough later) you need someone to power level you, I can help with that. The Behemoth boss on co-op gives over 8 million experience per run, thus it's the best way to get up to level 300. It can be done solo, but you have to prepare skills and a specific sniper rifle that's ideal for the situation and I'm more than ready for it. I actually got a second of the same rifle that turned out to be much stronger than what I already had 🤷🏻♂️
Oh my god Phantasy Star, I really want Phantasy Star Universe, the expansion and the portable games brought over to PC and released in a similar way to how .//Hack was
I really like PSO, too bad I didn't have internet back then I mainly played offline
I knew that but what I think the game needs is an updated re-release merging the whole Universe series into one and releasing it on Steam with all online content adapted for singleplayer but allowing you to host local co-op servers so you and your friends can tackle missions
I knew felt right at home ingame because the equip system is much like Anarchy Online . Based upon skills needed to equip better gear/weapons. I have not come across anything weapon-wise too far out of my range of equippable items yet, but it looks very much like it is possible to Twink higher fear on by wearing stat modifying (boosting) gear. Like a ring that adds +strength to reach a weapons requirements.
neat stuff in here
